JOB SUMMARY

To perform a variety of commercial lines and or personal lines tasks - related to processing basic and complex transactions for renewals; quotes; new business; money endorsements; and non-money endorsements, for all products.  Process basic and complex cancellations. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

>Primary

  • Enter required risk data and process basic and complex renewals for all products.
  • Update Statement of Values for blanket renewal policies, and send the SOV with a letter to the agent. 
  • Verify that the renewal meets the underwriting criteria and review with the Underwriter any discrepancies.
  • Enter required risk data and process basic and complex new business for all products.
  • Verify that the rated account meets the underwriting criteria and review with the Underwriter any discrepancies.
  • Enter required risk data and process basic and complex money endorsement requests for all products. 
  • Verify accurate Reinsurance entry in WINS for all applicable transactions.
  • Enter required risk data and rate basic and complex quotes for all products.
  • Verify that the rated quote contains all of the requested information.
  • Process basic cancellations (final cancels, reinstatements) and complex cancellations (notices in system and manually, revisions to original cancellation or non-renewal, Add from Cancels with additional changes)
  • Keep up-to-date on all current department procedures related to processing various transactions. 
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

 

>Secondary

  • Enter policy application data into system for various personal lines products.
  • Register Quotes and New Business for commercial lines products.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Moderate to minimal supervision is received from the Underwriting Service Manager or senior staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school education plus 2-4 years relevant experience; or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.  
  • Strong math skills; good reading, spelling, typing/data entry and general clerical skills.
  • Previous experience working with computerized information systems, Windows systems preferred.
  • Previous insurance industry experience helpful.
  • Ability to effectively & cooperatively work with company personnel, as well as the ability to represent the company and deal effectively with agents, as well as others outside the company.
  • Proficiency using automated phone systems, e-mail and general word processing.
  • Experience with AS/400, Imageright, and Microsoft Outlook preferred.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Predominately sedentary office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required.
  • The physical demands are minimal and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations. 
  • The work environment is representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations.

 

The salary range reflected is a good faith estimate of base pay for the position.  In addition to base salary, this role is incentive compensation and benefits eligible, and individual salary will ultimately be determined based on individual experience, skills, qualifications and geographic location.
