Description
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing bi-weekly multi-state payroll, benefit reconciliations and other payroll related tasks for approximately 700 employees with multiple compensation programs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Enters, maintains, and processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Ensures accurate processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions.
- New state tax setup and processing of notices such as garnishments, tax levies, etc.
- Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
- Maintain data and provide accurate information for payroll tax-related issues.
- Research payroll discrepancies through information collection and analysis.
- Prepare bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Work with new acquisitions to understand their payroll process and provide assistance to transition to the SPS payroll process, which may include providing worksheets or other instructions.
- Benefits reconciliation for multiple 3rd Party benefit plans (i.e. medical, 401k, dental, etc).
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, including Excel.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn Paylocity software
- Solid experience with other related payroll systems, if not Paylocity
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping with at least 1 year of experience in payroll processing preferred.
- Paylocity experience highly preferred.
