About our opportunity:
The City of Asheville is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Coordinator, Community Development in the Community Development Division. This position is responsible for coordinating locally and federally funded housing, community development, and related grant programs. The Community Development Division programs focus on reviewing applications, scheduling funding meetings, and monitoring subrecipient programs to meet City goals.
What you’ll be doing:
Coordinate locally and federally funded housing, community development, and related grant programs.
Review and assess grant applications, determining project/program feasibility and ability to meet City goals.
Coordinate and conduct training and technical assistance for subrecipients and applicant agencies.
Process and review incoming grant draw requests for HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Manage and update program information and application content, including creating/modifying applications and website content.
Prepare and monitor federal grant reporting forms and documents, such as performance report forms and draw request templates.
Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including City employees, contractors, grantees, and the public, to coordinate activities and resolve problems.
Process and maintain a variety of essential program documentation, including forms, reports, contracts, and invoices.
Utilize computer software proficiently for data entry, retrieval, review, and modification, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.

Salary: $52,510.57 - $57,761.62

Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Planning, Community Development, or a related field required.
One year of experience in grant program implementation and management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.

Other things to know:
Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week; Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.
