YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Parts Room Industrial Engineer - Manager (PRIEM) opportunity in our Guymon, OK, pork processing plant operations. In this highly impactful role, you are responsible for leading and overseeing a multi-shift mechanical parts department at our plant, which processes over 21,000 animals daily. The PRIEM is responsible for managing inbound mechanical, repair, and operations (MRO) materials, ensuring efficient inventory control, logistics, and material flow.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and improve inventory management systems using industrial engineering methodologies.
  • Creation, training, adherence, and ongoing development of SOPs.
  • Design and implement efficient storage layouts and retrieval systems to minimize downtime and maximize space utilization.
  • Develop and maintain predictive models for parts usage based on production schedules and historical data.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels by leveraging best practices in inventory management, including setting and adjusting reorder points (ROP) and reorder quantities (ROQ).
  • Apply statistical analysis and lean manufacturing principles to reduce excess inventory and streamline procurement processes.
  • Analyze historical data to forecast parts demand, ensuring inventory availability.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify inefficiencies in parts handling and propose engineering-based solutions.
  • Utilize ERP systems and engineering software to monitor inventory levels, reorder points, and supplier performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, process optimization, and operational reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all parts room operations.
  • Supervise and train staff in lean manufacturing-based inventory control procedures and systems.
  • Develop and enforce procedures for managing defective or damaged materials, including root cause analysis, corrective action and cost accountability assessments.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a high-performance team within the parts department. Provide coaching on best practices in purchasing and inventory management while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal teams, and management to coordinate purchases, monitor project progress, to ensure timely delivery, receipt and payment of parts and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or a closely related engineering field, and at least three (3) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Proven experience applying industrial engineering principles in a manufacturing or logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, ERP systems, and engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Six Sigma tools).

Preferred:

  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and SAP or JDE, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management, lean manufacturing, and process optimization.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well within a team and interact daily with all company workforce levels.
  • Ability to be certified to operate a powered industrial truck and any other safety certifications required for the position.

 

SCHEDULE:

  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
  • The noise level in the work environment is dependent on which environment you are in
