This is an hourly position starting at $17.00/hr. with additional compensation considered for relevant education and experience beyond the minimum requirements.

Schedule: Full-Time - Must be able to work a flexible weekday schedule and every other weekend

We are looking for a Rockstar Cook who can whip up tasty, nutritious meals, keep our kitchen running smoothly, and maybe even teach a few life lessons along the way at our residential substance misuse treatment program for adolescents. We believe that nutritious, well-prepared meals are a vital part of the recovery process.

What You’ll Do:

• Plan, prepare, cook, and serve nutritional meals for the youth, (no late nights!)
• Keep the kitchen clean and safe, ensuring all sanitation, & regulatory standards are met
• Manage inventory including food orders and supplies
• Occasionally guide and supervise youth assigned as kitchen helpers
• Keep daily logs, follow food handling & labeling procedures and report meal counts

Requirements

What You Need:

• A big heart and a cheerful outlook
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations; current food handler certification required or willingness to get one upon hire
• Min. 1 yr. of experience in food service or kitchen management; experience in a residential or institutional setting preferred
• Ability to work independently, multitask, and interact respectfully with youth and employees
• Pass a Level II background check and pre-employment drug screen
