The Role
A2LA is seeking a committed professional to assist in the day-to-day accreditation operations for the Product Certification program. The responsibility of the Product Certification Program Manager will be to monitor processes, procedures, and applicable standards concerning the Product Certification program. This position serves to ensure the quality and competency of all conformity assessment bodies (CABs) under the program.

Responsibilities
- Oversee the accreditation process of CABs for ISO/IEC 17065.
- Serve as a main point of contact in product certification for all routine and non-routine inquiries.
- Perform assessor over-sites in the Product Certification area.
- Proactively manage all aspects of the assigned accreditation program, such as ensuring that program documents and forms are current, and relevant association website sections are current.
- Represent and participate in relevant industry groups (e.g., EPA ENERGYSTAR, TCB, etc.) as an accreditation expert.
- Act as a liaison for external regulators and other organizations associated with the assigned program.
- Develop and implement new growth strategy for the Product Certification program.
- Train staff and prospective assessors to the ISO/IEC 17065 standard.
- Collaborate with shared services to develop, maintain, and implement business plans targeting Product Certification program growth.
- Responsible for revision and/or development of external documents for international involvement of specific Product Certification conformity activities related to ISO/IEC 17065.
A2LA may provide exceptions to educational requirements for veterans who demonstrate the ability to perform the duties listed in this job posting.
Requirements
A successful candidate for this position typically meets the following criteria:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a scientific field of study.
- 10 years of product certification technical experience.
- An understanding and implementation of relevant conformity assessment standards.
- Experience with International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and Standards Developing Organizations (SDOs).
- Experience with assessing (or auditing) including principles, techniques, and application of requirements.
- Evidence of strong internal/external customer service orientation.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Some travel will be required.
Benefits and Compensation
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience. The wage range is $70,000-90,000 annually. - Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office setting. Hours are flexible, but they should normally encompass at least the core hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, total at least forty (40) hours for each work week, and suit the needs of various customers, where appropriate.
