Description:

This position coordinates the outreach and training of partner agencies in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in the District of Columbia. TEFAP is a program that provides nutritious government food to low-income families. The position requires an individual who is eager to build strong relationships with community organizations and with the state agency that oversees the program. The Program Coordinator will serve as an integral part of the TEFAP team to expand the reach of CAFB’s presence in the community.  

 


Essential Functions:

 

TEFAP Administration - 65%

  • Conduct outreach and onboard additional partners to the TEFAP program in the District of Columbia

  • Provide initial trainings to new TEFAP partners, annual recertification trainings, and other relevant trainings as needed to ensure program compliance

  • Ensure that training materials are up to date to meet state and federal requirements

  • Work alongside the Service Insights (data recording and analysis) team to onboard TEFAP partners into the database system

  • Work with Operations and Food Resources Departments to maintain a consistent and nutritious inventory that is in line with our ability to distribute the food in a timely manner

  • Collect and analyze data, as required by USDA

  • Prepare and ensure timely submission of monthly and quarterly reports to the state agency

  • Communicate with state agency regarding reports, compliance, and program guidance

  • Streamline processes for accurate tracking, filing, report preparation, and timely report completion

  • Collaborate on different CAFB initiatives to accomplish strategic goals

 

TEFAP Site Reviews, Data Monitoring, Audits – 35%

  • Monitor sites/site coordinators to ensure program guidelines are being met

  • Maintain and update all records pertaining to TEFAP, including updating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the program

  • Perform site inspections on an annual or as needed basis to ensure sites are in compliance with USDA requirements

  • Prepare documents for internal and external audits

  • Other TEFAP duties as assigned

Qualifications


Requirements:

  • 4-year degree or Associate’s degree with 1-3 years professional experience
  • Excellent written communication and public speaking skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to tight deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and report data
  • Experience using Excel and proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive throughout service area for site visits
  • Experience working with culturally diverse populations

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with data systems
  • Proficient in Spanish a plus
  • Experience leading trainings for adult audiences
  • Non-profit experience preferred

 

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand and do a moderate amount of walking at site visits

 

Reporting:

  • Reports to TEFAP Manager

Compensation:

The anticipated base salary for this position is $51,950 - $54,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
 

 

Schedule:

  • Hybrid schedule available
  • Regular work hours are generally Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break; with weekends or extended hours for special events
