ABOUT THE ROLE
The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing are looking for a part-time Faculty Technician in Clinical Skills to work on a Thursday and Friday from 1st September 2025 to 31st July 2026. 

The successful candidate is expected to prepare materials for teaching, research, CPD and external activities, maintain specialist laboratory equipment and have working knowledge of health and safety procedures, as well as undertake other tasks that support the Department.

This is a fixed term role of 9 months, from 1st September 2025, to 31st July 2026. 

ABOUT THE TEAM

The role is based primarily on Coach Lane Campus in the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health and the role holder will provide technical support for all health-related subjects within the department.

Within the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health we deliver a range of technical services across 36 specialist laboratory spaces that include a peri-operative suite, a midwifery suite, a 6-bedded ward, an occupational therapy assessment area with kitchen and home living spaces, as well as dedicated skills labs that are equipped with task trainers and high and low fidelity mannikins. The Clinical Skills Building often hosts NHS training and is used frequently for TV shows and filming. 

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • A proactive, customer focused approach with a commitment to high levels of service and support. 
  • Strong technical skills, including the preparation and maintenance of specialist clinical equipment. 
  • Good knowledge of health and safety procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including stock control and record keeping.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide face-to-face support in class practicals, workshops and CPD events.
  • The ability to work pro-actively and meet deadlines.
