Dematic is seeking a Senior Vice President (SVP), Project Execution, Americas to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, cross-functional, and long-cycle projects. The SVP will be responsible for leading the $2B region in Project Management, Execution, and Installation to further cement Dematic’s position as the market leader in this industry. The role will serve as a key driver of Dematic’s overall project execution, with full responsibility spanning from customer requirement discussions to final installation. This executive will play a critical role in ensuring consistent, on-time, and high-quality delivery of strategic initiatives for both clients and internal stakeholders. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to enhance customer satisfaction while maintaining internal project cost discipline and control. The SVP will oversee a team of 100 project managers, 400 installation professionals, and 300 engineers supporting the Americas market.
This position requires a leader with strong emotional intelligence and resilience, capable of driving comprehensive, integrated workstreams across complex organizational structures to ensure seamless execution and alignment. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in leading complex programs at the intersection of technology, engineering, and services—bringing together people, systems, and processes to deliver excellence at scale.
This role has the option of being based in: Atlanta, GA or Grand Rapids, MI.
Tasks and Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale, cross-functional projects within a $2B region, driving project management, execution, and installation efforts.
- Provide leadership and develop strategies for Project Management in alignment with the Company’s mission statement and strategic plan.
- Develop and manage budgets and business plans, ensuring financial goals are met while maintaining strong project delivery standards.
- Recruit, develop, motivate, and manage a highly trained technical workforce capable of meeting all business objectives. Effectively build a culture that fosters teamwork and cooperation to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance operational synergy across cross-functional teams.
- Develop and implement new systems, strategies, and programs that have significant business impact, driving innovation and continuous improvement within project execution.
- Define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to ensure optimum effectiveness across all teams involved in project execution.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication, project alignment, and timely issue resolution.
- Proactively identify potential risks to project timelines, quality, or cost, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruption.
- Establish and track KPIs to measure success, ensuring projects are executed effectively, customer satisfaction is achieved, and cost discipline is maintained.
Experience Desired:
- Strategic Project Management Leadership at Scale: Demonstrated strategic leadership for complex projects, applying deep knowledge of project management best practices such as business case development, scope definition, and full project life cycle execution. Proven experience with managing, designing, and implementing process improvements that enhanced operational efficiency, reduced costs, and mitigated risks across multiple high-impact initiatives.
- Business and Strategic Acumen: Experience in developing and managing budgets and business plans, with demonstrated expertise in conceptualizing and implementing impactful systems, strategies, and programs. P&L responsibility, knowledge and understanding.
- Relevant Industry Experience: Experience in an industrial projects-based business; prior knowledge of material handling, supply chain automation, or related industries is a plus.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to lead and manage large, distributed teams across multiple functions, develop cross-functional strategies, and secure alignment to drive organizational goals. Expertise with building, motivating, and developing high-performing teams—including Project Managers, Engineers, and Program Managers—while attracting and retaining top talent. Ability to foster a collaborative culture focused on teamwork, efficiency, and synergy, resulting in streamlined operations and reduced waste and costs.
