Per Diem Position 

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures the “The Hideaway experience” for members and guest by maintaining the standards set in Hideaway Basics to Excellence (BTS), mission statement/values, standards and exceptions, and Hideaway brand standards.
• Adheres to policies and procedures of the facility.
• Reports any incident or accident to the Director.
• Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services.
• Assesses contraindications of members/guest that may prevent service from taking place.
• Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered.
• Recommends products for home use with a minimum service to sales ratio.
• Performs all treatments on services’ menu based on current certifications.
• Suggests to guest other beneficial treatments offered in the spa.
• Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to the members/guests. Answers questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Understands all aspects of hair cutting to include precision cutting, razor, clipper and thinning shears.
• Possesses proficient styling skills to include setting the hair on hot rollers, curling irons, Velcro rollers, etc.
• Performs shampoo treatments and various scalp massage techniques.
• Performs chemical services to include color, perms and straightening techniques.
• Begins and ends all appointments on time.
• Works assigned schedule.
• Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
• Informs Director of product needs.
• Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate.
• Completes all assigned side work.
• Attends all scheduled meetings and professional trainings.
• Completes other duties assigned by the Director.
• Cleans and disinfects all equipment daily.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of previous salon experience preferred.
• Must maintain all current licenses and certifications that are required on a state and local level.
• Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
• Ability to explain various treatments/services to members/guest.
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivational.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Must be comfortable with product recommendation.
• Ability to work varied work schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements 

• Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods.
• Awareness of proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
• Ability to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
• Repeat the same movements including but not limited to bending, reaching, or twisting of the body.
• Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
• Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
• Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
• See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
