Position and Responsibilities

  • Maintains vehicle functional condition by conducting inspections; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing minor body damage.
  • Maintains vehicle records by recording service, repairs, parts used, labor hours, vehicle hour/mileage readings
  • Repairs and maintains generators both LP and diesel engines
  • Repairs and maintains pump systems (centrifugal, positive displacement, diaphragm, etc) in the processing facilities
  • Repairs and maintains piping and mechanical systems
  • Keeps common spare parts ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, verifying receipt
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have experience and/or training in plumbing, mechanical maintenance, auto mechanics, or other closely related field
  • Basic computer skills required; highly proficient is preferred
  • This position involves physical work that requires the employee to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds and work in awkward positions

 

Safety is a top priority at Cameco. Successful candidates for all positions that will involve work at Safety-Sensitive Sites or in Safety-Sensitive Positions must take and pass a Substance Test, which includes marijuana, as a condition of employment. Marijuana remains in a user’s system for about 30 days, so applicants who recently used marijuana recreationally should not expect to pass a substance test.
