Campaign Director
Purpose:
The Campaign Director is responsible for planning,managing and executing Biola’s $200 million comprehensive campaign, currentlyin the quiet phase and set to launch publicly in fall 2026. This strategic positionis the “architect” of fundraising, communications strategies and events throughoutthe quiet and public phases of the campaign. The Campaign Director isresponsible for coordinating logistics, tracking campaign progress, supportingdonor outreach efforts, developing campaign materials (print, digital andvideo), managing campaign-related events, and ensuring that all elements of thecampaign run smoothly, ensuring all constituency groups (current andprospective donors, alumni, parents, foundations and corporations, etc.) areengaged to move them toward philanthropic support of the campaign.

Responsibilities:
- Campaign Management and Logistics:
- Coordinate the campaign timeline, ensuring that all deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Work closely with the development team to compile and distribute campaign materials, including donor lists, campaign newsletter, naming opportunities and stewardship communications.
- Direct and oversee the development of the campaign case for support and all supporting campaign collateral (print, digital, video, etc.), ensuring each priority project is supported with compelling stories and clear giving opportunities for donors at all levels.
- As the campaign moves from quiet-phase to public-phase, the Campaign Director will oversee the entire public launch of the campaign through campaign completion. This includes the regional, national and international public phase strategy and communication—through print, digital media, and boutique and large-scale events.
- Ensure that all Advancement departments are making progress toward campaign and its priorities and goals, and that the campaign is integrated into annual giving and direct mail, major giving, planned giving, foundation relations, and alumni and parent engagement.
- Donor Engagement and Stewardship Support:
- Help organize donor outreach efforts, including scheduling meetings, tracking interactions, and preparing follow-up materials.
- Maintain donor and prospect records in the fundraising CRM/database (Raiser’s Edge) and Windshield2020, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on commitments, gifts, and donor communications. This position must maintain an up-to-date record of the total dollars raised to date and ensure the VP of University Advancement and frontline fundraisers are kept informed.
- Prepare reports and updates for leadership, board members, and campaign volunteers.
- In partnership with the Vice President of University Advancement, frontline fundraisers and Donor Relations, develop a campaign stewardship plan that effectively thanks and acknowledges campaign giving across all levels.
- As the campaign progresses, manage a small portfolio of qualified donor households and prospects to actively cultivate and solicit philanthropic gifts of $10,000 and more to the campaign.
- Collaboration & Administrative Support:
- Serve as a liaison between frontline fundraisers, leadership, and campaign volunteers, helping to coordinate efforts and ensure smooth communication.
- Under the direction of the Vice President of University Advancement, assure that the university Trustees, staff leadership, volunteer leaders and the entire Advancement team have a solid understanding of the campaign vision, components, timeline and goals, are regularly trained on campaign messaging and strategy, and up to date with campaign progress and key milestones.
- Support key fundraising committees, Campaign Steering Committee and Executive Campaign Committee, by scheduling meetings, preparing meeting agendas, taking notes, following up on action items and overseeing ongoing campaign communication and updates to key volunteers.
- In partnership with the Vice President of University Advancement and Office of the President, help develop scripts and refine talking points for all campaign-related events, as well as executive level communications in other formats (emails, direct mail appeals, video scripts, etc.).
- Assist with campaign-related research, including donor prospecting.
- Manage the campaign budget and ensure the campaign is fiscally sound.
- In partnership Advancement Operations, ensure campaign reporting is in line with Biola’s Gift Acceptance Policy ad CASE reporting standards.
- Campaign Events:
- Plan and execute campaign events, including but not limited to: ribbon-cutting ceremonies, boutique campaign and vision-casting events, campaign kick-off events and galas, campaign celebration events, and all other event opportunities related to the campaign.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working behind the scenes and in front of donors, alumni and friends of Biola to support development staff, leadership, and volunteers in achieving ambitious fundraising goals.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent five years or more professional fundraising experience required; advanced degree preferred.
- Previous experience overseeing fundraising campaigns, preferably at a university or large non-profit.
- Previous experience in fundraising, donor development and donor stewardship.
- Previous experience in volunteer management preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Experience developing and managing complex budgets preferred.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategies for achieving fundraising goals.
- Proven track record of achieving fundraising goals and initiatives.
- Strong project management skills to balance and deliver on multiple activities.
Hours: 40 hours per week, 12 months; full-time salaried position
Scheduleexpectancy: This position requires personal attendance at Biola’s La Mirada campus.
Hiring Range: $90,000.00 - 105,000.00 annual
