Position Title: Mitigation Technician
Reports To: Mitigation Manager / Project Manager
Department: Restoration Services
Position Summary
The Mitigation Technician is responsible for performing emergency and non-emergency mitigation services in residential and commercial properties affected by water, fire, smoke, mold, and other disasters. This role requires hands-on fieldwork, attention to detail, excellent customer service, and adherence to company and industry standards to restore properties efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls, including water, fire, and storm damage.
- Perform water extraction, structural drying, fire and smoke cleanup, mold remediation, and other mitigation tasks.
- Set up and monitor drying equipment such as dehumidifiers, air movers, and air scrubbers.
- Conduct moisture inspections, document readings, and maintain accurate job records in compliance with company procedures.
- Assist with content manipulation, pack-out, and storage as needed.
- Clean and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment to ensure proper working order.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and insurance representatives.
- Support project managers and crew leaders with daily assignments and tasks.
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend emergency services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Previous experience in restoration, construction, or related field preferred.
- IICRC Certification in Water Damage Restoration (WRT) preferred; willingness to obtain required.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
