Summary: The Volunteer Manager leads MnTC’s volunteer initiatives, overseeing recruitment,
training, engagement, and retention. This highly visible role collaborates across departments to
align volunteer efforts with organizational needs across the state to ensure a meaningful
experience for volunteers and maximum impact for MnTC.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Develop and implement annual strategic plans to grow and strengthen volunteer engagement
across all MnTC staff or client initiatives.
• Create and promote volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups (such as businesses,
churches and schools).
• Cultivate meaningful relationships with our volunteer base. Identify their skills and passions
to express appreciation and mission.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Programs, Aftercare, Marketing, Fundraising) to assess
needs and align volunteer efforts to MnTC broader mission and goals.
• Lead communication strategies to raise awareness of volunteer opportunities and celebrate
impact.
• Oversee full volunteer lifecycle: including onboarding, training, role placement, scheduling
calendar and off-boarding.
• Maintain accurate records using Raiser’s Edge and other relevant tools.
• Implement thoughtful recognition strategies, including events, cards and acknowledgements.
• Track and analyze key performance metrics and report on volunteer impact.
• Support MnTC’s fundraising team in engaging major donors through volunteer efforts to
deepen their engagement with MnTC’s mission.
• Help recruit and facilitate MnTC event volunteers.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and volunteer expertise to stay current on
volunteer best practices.
• Represent MnTC with professionalism, positivity and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of volunteer management or related experience (preferably nonprofit)
• Spiritually mature and aligned with MnTC’s Core Values
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills
• Strategic thinker with a passion for helping others
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge, Volgistics, and related
platforms
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to pass a DHS background check

Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit at a desk the majority of an 8 hour shift
• Ability to work on a computer the majority of an 8 hour shift

Educational/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years of volunteer management or related experience, preferably for a non-profit
organization.

Target Compensation (Negotiable based on qualifications):

$55,000-$59,000/year
