JOB TITLE:
Collections Assistant
UW Art Museum
Job location: Centennial Complex
Pay rate or range: $13.00
JOB PURPOSE:
To assist the UW Art Museum Collections Manager with collections and registration related tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Writing PastPerfect descriptions of artwork for future online publication
One of the following large projects:
Assist with sorting and organizing archives for transfer to AHC
Work on uploading photographs into the museum CMS and organize into the DAM
Accessioning Study Collection objects
Other collections related tasks including but not limited: IPM processing, Condition reports, Creating object lists, Data entry and cleanup
Write object descriptions, Assist Collections Manager with exhibition paperwork, Assist with collections management projects. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED.
Education: Fine Arts and Humanities: History, Art, Anthropology, Museum studies majors are encouraged to apply.
Experience: N/A
Must be eligible, have received and accepted work study award through Student Financial Aid for the applicable semester and/or academic year.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience in GLAM field through classwork or internships preferred.
EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS APPLICABLE TO CAREERS:
Successful candidate will gain valuable experience in working with museum collections databases and other museum collections management practices.
