Job Description:

Primary responsibilities will revolve around Sustainability, Operational, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) reporting and analysis. Plays a pivotal role in offering comprehensive support for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, conducting thorough analyses of manufacturing and other cost variances. Provides invaluable financial support to manufacturing plants and the operations team.

Area of Responsibility: Sika Corporation and Related Entities in Area US

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual metric/financial reports and ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Assume a key role in coordinating and preparing monthly and quarterly Sustainability, Operational, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) reports across all US entities.
  • Rigorously review Manufacturing Variances, including Consumption, Purchase Price Variance, Inventory Adjustments, and Scrap. Investigate and elucidate variances, providing insights into root causes and proposing potential solutions.
  • Monitor changes in cost inputs and assess their impact on margins and prices.
  • Collaborate with business managers to track future price movements and their effects on margins.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by furnishing necessary financial information and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing and warehousing leadership to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial transactions and reporting.
  • Oversee general month-end closing for each plant, as well as month-end closing for production orders, including cost assessments, calculation of Work In Progress (WIP), overhead cost calculation, and analysis of cost variances and scrap.
  • Implement and monitor cost control measures to ensure operational expenses align with expectations.
  • Partner with plant managers to institute systems and controls enhancing the financial performance of each plant.
  • Provide financial justification for investments in new equipment, technology, or facility upgrades.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to optimize inventory levels.
  • Play a pivotal role in the implementation or upgrade of financial systems enhancing central finance operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business (with a focus on Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines)
  • 4+ years experience in reporting, with a background as a Financial Analyst within a manufacturing company
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem solving abilities
  • Proven ability to interact with and provide support at all levels of management
  • Proficient in technical skills including MS Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • SAP experience desired
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational skills coupled with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Keen attention to detail, ensuring accurate work
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) desired
  • Knowledge of AFO (Analysis for Office) desired
