About this position:
This position will manage the entire grant process for the agency, which would include but not be limited to, identifying and applying for grants from governmental and non-governmental agencies.

Position Duties
Possession of a current Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate.
NOTE:
Applications will be accepted from persons who possess a current Engineer Intern Certificate in states other than Louisiana. However, the applicant will be required to obtain a Louisiana Engineer Intern Certificate prior to appointment. The hiring agency will verify that all requirements are met.

Job Duties:
Plan and review pending maintenance activities. Assess, prioritize, and address needs to ensure operational efficiency. This includes plumbing, electrical, and other maintenance and construction needs for the marinas, parks, and Lake Vista, performed by both LMA maintenance staff and contract workers. The engineer intern will plan and review construction projects, which we list internally as maintenance activities that we perform in house with maintenance or request outside contractors.
Prepares draft RFPs and contracts for needed work, receives and reviews bids, and makes recommendations to the Engineer.
Establishes timelines for completion, expectations for quality, and addresses any issues promptly.
Assists the Engineer with maintenance work on grounds, runways, and taxiways, utilities,s and buildings at New Orleans Lakefront Airport as needed.
Participates in preparing specifications for the procurement of equipment, construction projects, etc. .
Participates in design contracts, including project planning, following the bid process, and reviewing contracts for all facilities under LMA’s responsibility.
Assists the Grants department with the grant program by researching and preparing plans needed for the grant writing process.
Participates in federal partnership activities with agencies including, FAA, USCG, and DEQ as they relate to operational and maintenance functions. T
Assists in the permit functions for LMA. An engineer that have completed a FE must review plans prior to approving letters of no objection for building permits.
·Prepares reports regarding the status of LMA facilities and on all operations, construction, maintenance, and repair activities for the Engineer.
Attends training courses, conferences, and seminars as assigned to enhance job skills
·Review plans submitted to the Lakefront Management Authority and issue Letters of No Objection for applicable building restrictions
·Support the Engineer with FEMA-related work, including gathering documentation required for reimbursement of expenses related to natural disasters.
Attend MS4 permit-related meetings and gather relevant information about properties managed by the Lakefront Management Authority (LMA).
Review boathouse lease renewal requests and provide an assessment of the property's condition to the Engineer for further review and recommendation.
