About the Department

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Schedules and coordinates various leagues and other activities
• Administers athletic programs, camps, and special events
• Coordinates background checks on volunteers
• Markets athletic programs, camps, special events, and rentals through the Activities Guide, flyers, City of Winchester website, and television interviews
• Assists with scheduling of the athletic facilities
• Supervise part-time staff, volunteers, and vendors
• Coordinates the efforts of the athletic division with the other divisions within the Parks & Recreation Department to ensure that goals are achieved
• Other duties as assigned

• An associate degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field is required with some related experience, including supervision of personnel, game officiating, and computer experience
• Valid driver's license
• Posses or ability to obtain within 6 month of employment Child and Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification
• Posses or ability to obtain within 2 years of employment Youth Sports Administrator Certification
