Job Title: Quality Lab Tech (Factory)
Department: Quality Department
SUMMARY
This position performs inspections on parts (casting, first piece, incoming, and machining) per engineering drawings and fills out proper data reports. This position will also assist the Quality Manager as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform precise dimensional inspections of machined parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other manual measurement tools.
- Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for advanced dimensional analysis.
- Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections to ensure part compliance with specifications and tolerances.
- Assign a statistical sampling plan and allowable quality level (AQL) that is suitable for the inspection request based on specifications and procedures.
- Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and outsourced processes (e.g., plating, heat treating) for compliance with purchase order requirements.
- Verify supplier certifications and material test reports against company standards and customer specifications.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to address quality issues and provide feedback for process improvements.
- Interpret engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and customer specifications.
- Assist with troubleshooting dimensional with production and engineering.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
TRAVEL
This position requires minimal travel, less than 10%.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); six months to a year related experience and/or training in a foundry lab; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to accurately enter data findings and communicate the findings with other personnel.

Noise levels and temperature can vary, but the primary workstation is HVAC controlled.
