Hybrid Recreation Program Coordinator bei Mohegan Tribal Government

Summary of Job Description:

Incumbent researches and develops quality recreation and leisure programs for implementation in the Tribal community in conjunction with the Program Manager.   

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to develop educational and program materials for all ages 
• Ability to work with various age groups including children and elders
• Effective communication skills with internal and external parties
• Ability to follow all safety instructions and maintain safety standards
• Demonstrated interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated understanding of group dynamics and conflict resolution
• Ability to work collaboratively and organize work
• Knowledge of basic computer systems, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Must be able to participate in program activities (such as chaperoning trips) and work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
• Valid driver’s license from state of residence

~AND~

• Associate's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Recreation, Leisure Management, or related field and three (3) years of work experience in the field

~OR~

• High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of work experience in the field

~AND~

• First Aid and CPR certifications required (will train)
• Selected candidate must successfully complete a background check and continue to be eligible for employment in accordance with the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Policy
• No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving moral turpitude or issues of integrity
• This position requires frequent interaction with the general public. While the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, it can be louder at times, particularly during special events, concerts, and programs involving amplified music or large crowds
• Must be able to perform duties in both indoor and outdoor settings and under varying weather conditions
