Student Worker – Peer Career Coach
Purpose/Objective of the Role:
The Career Connection Peer Career Coach (PCC) Intern will meet with students for resume/cover letter review, drop-
in career advising, and other basic career-related needs.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Assist students in career resume/cover letter review, strengths coaching, and with basic drop-in questions.
- Manage the new Virtual Career Center and updates resources via Uconnect.
- Develop a thorough understanding of career-related services and programs our office offers.
- Teach students how to sign up for and use Handshake (our job and internship platform) during advising appointments.
- Create marketing materials, manage data entry, write blog posts, and complete other duties as assigned.
- Represent Career Connection in a positive and professional manner while enthusiastically working toward solutions for OWU students.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must be reliable, detail-oriented, possess initiative and follow-through, and have a strong motivation to complete projects.
- Excellent communication skills; emphasis on writing and interpersonal skills.
- Verbal coaching/active listening skills.
- Creative/Artistic skills− writing advertisements, creating posters, flyers, banners, and social media posts.
- Knowledge of Google Suite & Microsoft Word, and Canva proficiency preferred.
