SUMMARY

Liaison to newsroom for overall organizational issues, content initiatives, and execution of content strategy; major company reporting projects; news literacy and public trust efforts; opinion and editorial advisory oversight.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervise all aspects of the news operation. 
• Prepare, administer and work within the newsroom budget. 
• Approve all newsroom hires and promotions. 
• Review and evaluate work of newsroom staff. 
• Participate in all meetings as part of the management team. 
• Serve on the editorial board. 
• Represent the company in community organization and media functions. 
• Participate in professional activities as appropriate. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline with at least four years newsroom experience. 
• Experience in a daily setting and/or supervisory capacity preferable. 
• Strong decision-making skills. 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
• Strong interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work well under deadlines.

Expected compensation for this role is between $60,000 and $70,000/year, based on qualifications and experience.
