Supply Clerk Job Description:

General Nature of Work:

Under general supervision of the Assistant Dining Facility and/or Dining Facility Manager, the SICC receives, stores, and issues subsistence. Ensure accountability of all subsistence to include operational rations. Ensures all subsistence is rotated using the rule First In, First Out (FIFO) except for breads when issued to prepare sandwiches, only then the rule is Last In, First Out (LIFO). The SICC ensures the wholesomeness of all edible items.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Upon deliveries checks to ensure delivery truck arrives with proper refrigeration and freezer temperatures.

Counts, sorts, and/or weighs incoming subsistence to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice(s) to ensure items received are the items ordered.

Randomly section items from delivery by opening box to ensure content and quantity of product, ensures all items of truck are label with date received (mm/dd/year) and boxes are open.

Examines stock to ensure no spoilage, signs of tampering, signs of time and temperature abuse, and semi perishable items are not damaged.

Ensures all issued subsistence is accounted for properly when issued by meal and recorded on the proper documentation.

Performs physical (sight) inventories (weekly and monthly) of all subsistence as required by counting all items and recording data of items counted.

Pulls all proteins to ensure meats are thawed to support menu for upcoming meals up to 72 hours prior not to exceed 7 days.

Ensure all food storage areas are cleaned daily or as needed.

Must be knowledgeable with Food Service Sanitation requirements of TRI- SERVICE FOOD CODE/TB Med 530.

Performs temperature checks on all refrigeration and freezer units as directed by management.

Is responsible for following all safety rules and regulations.

Ensures all subsistence is stored properly IAW regulatory guidelines and internal policies.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

 High school diploma or GED.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
