About Our Practice
Our medical practice specializes in delivering high-quality mobile care to residents of skilled nursing facilities and patients in their homes across Essex County. Based in Livingston, NJ, we pride ourselves on compassionate, prompt service that brings healthcare directly to those who need it most.
Position Overview
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the first point of contact for our patients, families, and facility partners. You will manage appointment scheduling, insurance verification, patient intake, and provider coordination to ensure seamless care delivery. This role demands professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet incoming calls and emails, triaging inquiries and directing appropriately
- Schedule and confirm appointments for mobile visits to facilities and homes
- Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations
- Collect and accurately enter patient demographic, clinical, and billing information into the EMR
- Coordinate logistics with clinical staff, skilled nursing facilities, and home care partners
- Prepare and distribute patient intake packets, consent forms, and post-visit instructions
- Handle billing questions, resolve patient account issues, and liaise with insurance companies
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and company policies
Work Environment & Schedule
- Hybrid work: primarily in-office with outreach to skilled nursing facilities and patient homes
- Standard hours Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM; occasional flexibility required for urgent patient needs
- Ergonomic office setup and a collaborative team atmosphere

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or medical office training preferred
- 1–2 years of patient service, front desk, or medical administrative experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and billing processes
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
