Job Description
The Department of Agricultural Economics seeks a highly motivated researcher for a Post-doctoral Research Fellow position in food price forecasting and food e-commerce management. The researcher will work with department faculty and graduate students with the work under the supervision of Dr Simon Somogyi. The successful applicant will be responsible for the development of a research program on food price forecasting and food e-commerce management. They will oversee the mentoring of graduate and undergraduate researchers and also contribute to grant and human research ethics applications and manuscript preparation. Teaching duties may also be assigned.
Responsibilities
Preparing manuscripts and reports for publication.
Collecting and analyzing qualitative & quantitative research data.
Supervising graduate and undergraduate research students.
Preparing research grant and human research ethics approval applications.
Assisting in the teaching of courses to undergraduate
Other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience
PhD in Agricultural Economics
Preferred Experience
Experience with econometric and business management research methods and analysis
Experience with grant applications and a publication record
Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Good communication and computer skills
Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Knowledge of food price forecasting and food e-commerce management
