  • Ensure consistent compliance with state and federal regulations, including the Ohio Department of Health requirements, Life Safety Code (NFPA 101), NFPA standards, CMS conditions of participation, and other relevant codes.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for regional and building-level maintenance staff, covering technical skills, compliance requirements, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
  • Conduct facility audits and assessments to identify operational gaps, safety risks, and infrastructure needs.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams (clinical, operations, legal, and procurement) to align facility operations with organizational goals.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contractor performance for large-scale facility improvements and emergency repairs.
  • Serve as the point person for crisis response related to physical plant disruptions (e.g., HVAC failure, water intrusion, fire damage).

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in facility operations or maintenance leadership, preferably within skilled nursing or healthcare environments.
  • Proven success managing teams across multiple locations and leading through regional supervisors.
  • In-depth knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection) and facilities infrastructure.
  • Strong familiarity with Ohio’s health facility regulations, including LSC, NFPA, and ODH requirements, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CapEx planning and budget management.
  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or ticketing software platforms.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel statewide as needed.
