The AML Analyst plays a vital role in protecting the organization from financial crime by ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations. This position is responsible for conducting investigations, transaction monitoring, reporting of suspicious activity, and Sanctions alert clearing, in alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Review alerts generated by the AML transaction monitoring system and determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Analyze client activity, account behavior, and documentation to detect anomalies or patterns indicative of money laundering or other financial crimes.
  • Prepare and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with regulatory timelines.
  • Prepare and file Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) in accordance with regulatory timelines.
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance of the firm’s AML policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
  • Stay current with changes to AML laws and regulations and advise management of potential compliance issues.
  • Participate in periodic AML training and contribute to the development of internal training materials.

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, finance, legal, or a related field; advanced degree or certification (e.g., CAMS) is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of relevant AML or compliance experience in a financial services or banking environment.
  • Effective knowledge of AML and CFT regulatory requirements (e.g., BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN rules).
  • Experience with AML monitoring systems and tools (e.g., FCRM) preferred.
  • Analytical and investigative skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
  • Familiarity with sanctions screening, PEP screening, and OFAC lists.

The base salary range for this position is $80K - $110K. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skills, experience, and qualification for the role.  It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range.

In addition, this position may be eligible for a discretionary incentive-based bonus based on individual and company performance.

 

Eligible employees may participate in a 401 (K) program with a company profit sharing contribution, medical, dental, vision, life insurance and disability covering and paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
