Paraeducator
We are seeking a Part Time Paraeducator who serves under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher and the teacher’s direct supervisor. The incumbent’s primary duty is to assist, support and enhance an effective learning environment and student achievement by working with students in small groups and individually. Additionally, the Paraeducator provides the teacher with qualitative data and insight that helps the teacher tailor instruction to support each student’s unique challenges and at times, leads class activities at the teacher’s request.
Responsibilities:
- Leads small group activities and provides whole-class instruction when needed
- Provide the teacher with qualitative data
- Assess students’ digital literacy progress throughout the class sessions and develops an understanding of individual student needs/challenges in digital literacies.
- Explain basic Microsoft Office Suite concepts accurately
- Assist teachers with developing effective learning plans to address students’ needs and strengths, motivate students and build their confidence and persistence.
- Prepare presentations, handouts, and activities as needed
- Participate in Paraeducator training and professional development sessions
- Provide administrative duties as requested by the teacher (bulletin board creation, collecting or passing out papers, making photocopies when necessary)
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- High School diploma with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience or the appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Bilingual proficiency required (Spanish/English or Amharic/English)
- Able to tutor basic math and literacy
- Ability to speak and write English to near fluency
- Demonstrates self-motivation, continual learning, and the ability to take initiative
- Practice professional and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Able to work independently or with others in a team approach

- Must be able to provide proof of completed Covid-19 vaccination.

Schedule
Monday- Friday: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm
Salary ranges from $20.48 to $33.92 an hour based on years of experience.
