Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in Business Administration with Specialization in Analytics and Information Systems

- Position Summary
The responsibilities of this position comprise teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business analytics, information systems, and related areas within the Business Administration program. The faculty member will prepare students to excel in an increasingly data-driven and technology-enabled business environment by integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, and cybersecurity into the curriculum and instruction. The faculty is expected to participate actively in curriculum development, program assessment, and to advise and mentor students. Service to the department, school/college, university, and community is a significant component to this role – especially fostering partnerships with local businesses, technology, and Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. The faculty must perform all duties professionally and ethically, supporting the mission and values of Chaminade University. In addition, the faculty is required to contribute to scholarly research and engage in ongoing professional development consistent with their faculty role, with a focus on applied research and real-world business impact.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction in business analytics, data analytics, information systems, and emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity.
- Advise and mentor a diverse student body to support their academic progress, professional growth, and career readiness in dynamic technology and business environments.
- Actively participate in service activities at the department, school/college, university, and community levels, including committee work, program development, accreditation efforts, and outreach initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a curriculum that reflects current and emerging industry practices, integrates relevant technology and analytic tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI), and incorporates ethical considerations in data use and privacy.
- Incorporate innovative pedagogical approaches such as project-based learning, simulations, and experiential assignments using real datasets and business challenges.
- Conduct scholarly research focused on applied analytics, information systems, and technology with an emphasis on community impact and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Pursue professional development to maintain currency with rapidly evolving technologies and teaching methodologies, including virtual and hybrid instructional delivery.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Education and Experience
Minimum
- A doctorate (Ph.D., DBA, or equivalent terminal degree) in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution by the start of employment.
- Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in business analytics, information systems, or related areas.
- Evidence of scholarly activity or research potential relevant to analytics and information systems.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations and support inclusive learning environments.
Preferred
- Teaching experience in business analytics, information systems, data science, or closely related fields at the university level.
- Experience integrating emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and cybersecurity into curriculum and instruction.
- Experience with curriculum design, assessment, and accreditation processes aligned with standards such as IACBE or AACSB.
- Proven record of peer-reviewed publications, presentations, or applied research with community or industry impact.
- Professional experience in analytics, business intelligence, information systems, or technology-driven roles in industry or consulting.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies, big data tools, programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL), analytics software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Experience engaging with Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities or commitment to culturally responsive teaching.
- Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong and current knowledge of business analytics, data management, information systems, and technology trends relevant to business and society.
- Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods with the ability to apply these in academic and applied contexts.
- Ability to teach and utilize modern analytics software, programming tools, and cloud-based platforms effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, colleagues, and external partners.
- Commitment to collaborative learning environments.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and self-directed skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary settings.

- Physical Requirements
Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and require a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.
- Other Requirements:
- This is a full-time, exempt position. Forty hours per week (M-F) will be the general rule. However, depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends, and have a varying schedule when required
