Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of hourly administrative support and warehouse workers concerned with receiving, storing, inventorying, and shipping materials in the warehouse or yard. Prioritize and organize inbound and outbound shipments while maintaining a positive flow between the office and general warehouse.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and application of company policies.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with employees and customers via phone, email and face to face.
  • Maintain accurate documentation regarding employee attendance, vacations requests, safety reports, performance notices and damage or scrap reports, MSS cleaning schedule and other cleaning schedules.
  • Knowledge of reporting employee's job responsibilities and duties
  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.
  • Process inbound and outbound paperwork using the current operating software (Synapse, Maves, AX, SAP, RP, Yardview, etc...)
  • Knowledge of warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and is able to train new employees to the standards.
  • Create switch list.
  • Prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Organize outbound shipments by priority based on date and time due out.
  • Organize inbound shipments by priority based on product needed for outbound shipments then based on oldest trailer in yard.
  • Standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Access irregular situations, gather data/ information, provide appropriate accurate solution in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily chock and lock audits shift check lists.
  • Knowledge of where reports, records or other important information is kept.
  • Prepare and deliver annual and periodic performance reviews.
  • Ability to utilize computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Support and participate in company sponsored employee activities that promote organizational values such as teamwork, safety and positive employee engagement.
  • All employees have a responsibility to report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 5 to 15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; payroll and labor tracking; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, resolving problems and maintaining a safe work place.

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to define and deal with problems involving several concrete variable in standardized situations.
