A little more about our center:
The Terrace is a classic nursing home with a heavy emphasis on the long-term memory care resident and a small, but growing, short-term rehab unit. This close-knit team is welcoming and always willing to jump in to help out when you need it. What makes us unique:
- 4-Star Quality measure – this means we provide excellent clinical care!
- We have a large memory care population and they are eager to tell you their stories.
- We can help you turn your job into a career – ask us about educational assistance.
- There is a bus stop located in front of the center and many apartment homes nearby if you want to move closer to work.
What you will do in this role:
- Officially we title this job an Activities Aide, but in other centers it may be called an Activity Aide, Activities Assistant, or even a Life Enrichment Coordinator.
When you are a patient, games and entertainment can be the highlight of your day. As an Activity / Activities Aide you will help to keep our short-term stay residents engaged in their recovery and rehab. With long-term residents, you will be providing life enrichment events, often focused on cognitive and memory retention. This could involve leading an exercise group, playing card games, or reading a book to someone that is confined to their room.
- Every day can be a little more fun than the next.
What’s in it for you:
- Flexible scheduling with rotating weekends
- Employee recognition & referral programs
- Annual merit increase opportunities
- We focus on building relationships with our residents and families. In time, you may feel like they are your family too.
- Refer-a-Friend programs – Our #3 source of new employees is referrals from our existing team members. Great employees refer other great workers. Come join us.
What our employees may say to you (excerpts from our employee survey):
- “I feel like I make a difference here.”
- “People here are willing to give a little extra to get the job done right.”
- “When I look at what we accomplished, I feel a sense of pride.”
