About the Department

Working under the general guidance of the immediate supervisor, performs print shop duties including copying, printing, and scanning. Performs mailroom duties including handling US mail and interoffice mail, receiving and logging incoming packages from various carriers. Provides excellent customer service while performing Switchboard duties including, directing calls within the County, as well as when interacting with staff, departments, and the general public. 

Position Duties

  • Answering the main switchboard to direct the public and internal callers to the correct department/division
  • Fulfilling copy and print requests from departments/divisions
  • Interacting with internal staff, by email, in person, and by telephone, 
  • Receiving, sorting, and logging USPS mail, Fed Ex and UPS envelopes and packages

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience:

High school degree or GED and one year of working experience, or an equivalent combination of formal education and working experience.


Licenses, Certifications or Registrations: 
  • None

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Knowledge and ability to efficiently operate copying, postage, and switchboard equipment.   Knowledge and practice of organizational and time management skills.  

Knowledge of   Microsoft Outlook and Word 

Ability to bend, reach, push, pull and lift moderate weight

Ability to stand and walk to accomplish required tasks

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions

Ability to maintain and update logs, files, and reports with a high degree of accuracy 

Ability to operate a personal computer

Oral communication skills to interact effectively and efficiently with the public in determining which department/division provides the services the public needs




Other Qualifications

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

The work takes place in the mailroom office environment and  receiving warehouse environment
