This position is focused on supporting the accounting and reporting functions associated with domestic and international construction projects in the Special Projects Department.  Responsibilities include timely and accurate processing, and review, of financial documents for multiple projects.  Project accountants actively participate on project teams.  Additional responsibilities are noted below.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve project related documentation.
  • Ensure effective project setup and ongoing document coordination with internal and external parties.
  • Analyze budget to actual information at a detail level to ensure correct coding.
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting principles.
  • Ensure department processes are being followed and appropriate controls are functioning.
  • Identify and update potential areas of concern (project risks) and associated mitigation of such.
  • Review project data at a detail level and prepare adjustments as necessary.
  • Participate in project meetings on a regular basis.
  • Prepare project reports for department and project management as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related degree.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, business management, or other equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrates strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of construction accounting is strongly desired.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office and other applicable software.
  • Ability to focus on details.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
