WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC:
- The Maintenance Technician performs maintenance on buildings, equipment, heating, cooling, electrical systems, plumbing, and grounds. More specifically, the Maintenance Technician's responsibilities include:
- Installing, repairing, and servicing heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning equipment
- Maintaining building appearance and function by making needed repairs, painting, plumbing, making electrical repairs, etc.
- Assisting with routine tests and maintenance procedures for alarm systems, extinguishment systems, and electrical systems
- Maintaining parts and equipment inventory by checking stock, anticipating the need for equipment, and placing orders for needed parts
- Upkeeping the exterior of our facilities by landscaping, watering, fertilizing, mowing lawns, and repairing parking lots, walks, or entrances
- Documenting maintenance actions, including tracking system or equipment irregularities
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years’ experience in maintenance and/or construction
- Facilitation skills to support and work cooperatively with physicians, staff, patients, and external parties
- Ability to multitask efficiently and effectively
Essential Job Functions:
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Requires frequent lifting and carrying items weighing up to pounds without assistance
- Requires frequent bending, reaching, repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, some heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Frequently able to move/push/lift/carry items of varying weights, with a minimum of 75 pounds
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate a keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment
- Must wear PPE as situations require
- Must submit to COVID-19 testing as required by CMS and other regulatory agencies according to FCMC policy
- Have full COVID-19 vaccination (some exemptions allowed)
Work Environment:
- FCMC operates 24 hours per day, each day of the year. Operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients
- Potential exposure to blood, body tissue, and fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste
- Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress
