Your Role

  • You design innovative concepts, work on advanced technologies for development projects aimed at enhancing technical and application maturity

  • You will conduct preliminary assessments, for example of potential materials, manufacturability or cost-effectiveness to ensure optimal subsequent project outcomes

  • You prepare and conduct workshops if required to facilitate the generation of new ideas

  • You will encouraging collaboration across teams and fostering a creative environment

  • You serve as a bridge between Advanced R&D and other departments, networking with key contacts to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration

  • You create detailed CAD drawings to support prototyping efforts, ensuring designs meet specified requirements and standards.

  • You develop intellectual property (IP) and actively engage in invention disclosures to safeguard innovative solutions

  • You Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the patent landscape related to current projects to avoid infringement and ensure compliance with existing patents

  • You stay informed about current technological trends and industry developments to integrate cutting-edge innovations into projects

Your Profile

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field (preferred)

  • Severaal years of practical experience in developing medical devices, particularly in ophthalmology

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA guidelines) is desirable

  • Strong understanding of optics, laser technology, and light engineering is desirable

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

  • Understanding of materials that could or should be used (biocompatible, manufacturability, etc.), including calculations and simulations where possible, in collaboration with experts

  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop innovative solutions

  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across departments

  • Ability to present technical information clearly and concisely

  • Strong interest in technology and development, with a focus on new applications in medical technology

  • Business fluent English and German language oral amd written
