Summary:The Site Director will plan, organize, staff, and direct all activities of the facility to achieve plant and organizational goals for safety, quality, growth, profitability, productivity, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement. This key role will also lead production and plant operations, supply chain and test, process and manufacturing engineering to ensure the effective utilization of resources. This is an onsite role in Plainview, NY.
Responsibilities:- Create and maintain a Best-in-Class Manufacturing operation (Center of Excellence) relentlessly driving strategy toward growth and achievement
- Partner with key leadership in the development of a strategy to achieve short- and long-term operational and business development objectives; direct the submittal of the organizations Annual Operating Plan and business's financial forecasts and response plans
- Direct and coordinate all plant functions including Manufacturing, Materials, Production Control, Purchasing, Planning, SIOP, Manufacturing, Engineering, Logistics, Shipping, Facilities, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) to assure common direction toward plant goals
- Guide and support the plant quality system in procedures and controls to improve overall customer satisfaction, DPPM (defective parts per million), first pass yield and warranty results
- Maintain a positive rapport with all levels of the organization to foster and promote a diverse and inclusive work environment, high levels of morale, and employee engagement while leading and supporting the development of plant employees and succession planning activities
- Partner with the Operational Excellence team to ensure the effective development and delivery of programs to teach the workforce lean manufacturing tools and concepts such as problem solving, A3 thinking, leader as coaches, Kanban/pull systems, Kaizen, Value Stream mapping, visual management, mistake proofing, 5S and cellular manufacturing
- Business Administration (Bachelor's degree) or Related Field of Study (Bachelor's degree)
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience in people management. Minimum ten (10) years of experience in an operations management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Business Administration (Master's Degree)
- Strategic knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield and cost
- Experience in out-sourcing standard manufacturing work (machining, assembly, etc.), including internationally, to reduce cost
- Advanced knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management; Supply Chain management desirable
- Advanced problem solving ability, Strong ERP understanding and Root cause analysis
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by either ITAR or EAR U.S. export laws. As a condition to this job offer, in order to be employed in this position, you must be able to obtain an U.S. Government export license(s), as required by law.
- Pay Range: $200,000 - $250,000 annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
