Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 Annually. Salary will be dependent upon experience.
Summary:
Successful candidates will serve as technical specialists, applying their knowledge of civil and structural engineering along with AutoCAD design skills to support project engineers and managers. Responsibilities include assisting with the setup, generation, and production of structural calculations and drawings for projects such as bridges, retaining walls, culverts, storage tanks, and other civil structures.
Essential Functions:
- Perform structural calculations based on applicable structural codes and local standards.
- Prepare computer-generated engineering drawings according to established standards and procedures using the latest AutoCAD program.
- Revise or change drawings and complete simple calculations with specific instructions.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s standard CADD standards for layering and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s quality assurance and quality control standards.
- Prepare project specifications, summaries of approximate quantities and engineers estimates.
- Create informational graphic exhibits for internal and external meetings.
- Complete work within scope, schedule, and budget limits. Have a good understanding of how long tasks take and be able to articulate to project manager.
- Collaborate with team members to produce quality designs and construction documents in accordance with Matrix and Municipality standards.
- Work collaboratively within larger group and have the ability to multi-task and assist others in project deadlines.
- Perform detailed data collection and documentation for structural inspection and construction projects.
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of structural finite element software
- Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and National CAD Standard drafting practices.
- Proficiency in plan set assembly utilizing AutoCAD.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to take broad feedback and direction and translate into detailed and highly accurate plans.
- Ability to manage data references throughout the duration of projects, from preliminary design and alternative analysis to final design and construction.
- Working knowledge of relevant laws, codes, regulations, policies, and standards for discipline and be aware of emerging industry practices.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant engineering field with an emphasis or focus on structural engineering.
- Civil 3D experience.
- Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company’s MVR screening.

The employee may occasionally be required to make visits to observe and measure field conditions and visit construction sites with proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

The expected salary range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. The final compensation agreed upon is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
