Purpose of Position: To perform maintenance on all customers’ aircraft and engine accessories following company policies, SOPs and Repair Station Manual

Esse      Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation).  

  • Acquires information from production boards, reports and any other additional information given by manager and/or lead for daily/weekly production goals
  • Locates the accessory work order from the assigned production rack
  • Properly logs into ETS using the correct operation code
  • Reviews the work scope as directed by Sales upon induction
  • Locates the correct manual and tooling equipment to complete evaluation
  • Reviews and interprets the overhaul manual (OHM) to accurately diagnose the defect listed identified by Sales or adhere to the correct engine work scope
  • Perform preliminary inspection: inspecting for any incoming damages or numerical errors (part/serial numbers, descriptions, status; etc.) bench test unit to substantiate the customer’s Report.
  • Properly disassembles the until according to the overhaul manual; using the correct tooling equipment required and following any stand aviation procedures/practices
  • Visually inspects piece parts for any defects listed by the overhaul manual and / or any aviation standard practice
  • Measures any item indicated by the inspection section using micrometers, calipers and/or any other approved measuring equipment
  • Prepare components for routing, ensuring they are properly identified in accordance with the company’s SOP
  • Accurately logs inspection report into company specific software and completes the unit’s evaluation
  • Completes any final calibrations/testing required per the overhaul manual with the Prop Shop Quality Inspector
  • Ensure the all-piece parts, tags and paperwork are properly identified and completed for Final Inspection
  • Properly prepares the unit in accordance with the overhaul manual or standard aviation practices
  • Manually grinds and polishes propeller blades
  • Removes attached mechanical components from blade
  • Takes blade measurements and records
  • Removes lead plugs from inside the blade using a high-pressure washer
  • Strips paint and remove rubber parts from the blade tip using chemicals
  • Removes cuff material using hammer / chisel or power tools
  • Maps and measures blades per Overhaul Manual and standard practices
  • Proficiently preps and packages for shipment to Outside Service / customer
  • Follows directions and correctly and safely mixes and applies chemicals
  • Maintains chemical shelf life of in optimum quantities
  • Cure the blades in the oven to cure the cuff
  • Masks, paints and stencils the blade cuff based on computer stenciling program
  • Solders blade heater components to the blade
  • Performs surface treatment and repairs to blades per Overhaul Manual
  • Maintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and/or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly stored
  • Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstruction which may lead to harm
  • Travels as required
  • Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as, equipment utilization, production methods and procedures, to increase efficiency of department and promote improvement
  • Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
  • Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
  • Works overtime as needed
  • Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job)

  • Must provide and maintain personal toolbox in accordance with Segers’ Tool Control Plan
  • Must be proficient in using a variety of hand tools, special tools, and GSE required to perform assigned maintenance tasks
  • Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors
  • Must be able to work with little or no supervision and to take initiative
  • Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations
  • Must be able to apply common sense
  • Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in English
  • Must be proficient in company specific software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs 
  • Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
  • Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Must be able to hear running machinery
  • Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
  • Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
  • Must regularly be able to reach overhead
  • Must regularly be able to squat, bend, twist and stand
  • Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
  • Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions 

Marginal Functions: (Duties that are likely to be assigned to this person, unless he / she proves unable to perform them after receiving training and / or accommodations that the company judges appropriate)

  • Other duties as assigned

 Experience and Education Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred. At least 18 years of age or older.
  • 2 years of professional aviation, mechanical, industrial, or maintenance experience or completion of aviation school is required. 
  • 3 years of experience performing maintenance in an MRO environment preferred.
  • A&P license or FAA Power Plant Rating preferred. 
  • Must pass criminal background check, DOT pre-employment drug screen. Safety sensitive position per the DOT and FAA regulations. Subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulations.

 

Work Conditions: Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration. Noise is generally loud.
