Position title: Media and Advertising Specialist

Reports to: Director of Marketing

Department: Marketing

Salary Range: $56,000 – $63,000 / year

 

In-Situ, Inc. is an industry leader in environmental and process water monitoring technology. We are searching for an exceptional media and advertising specialist to support the Marcom team by planning, executing and optimizing paid media campaigns across digital and traditional channels. This role collaborates closely with the digital team and technical communications team to increase brand awareness, generate qualified leads, and support product launches in a technical B2B environment. 

 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing media plans with a focus on creating awareness, gaining widespread customer acceptance of Business Value Proposition, and driving lead generation by using all appropriate communication platforms and media for marketing activities.
  • Negotiate with vendors, publishers, and industry media partners.
  • Coordinate timelines, and insertion orders.
  • Process purchase orders, track invoices, and maintain budget spreadsheets.
  • Coordinate with trade publications for advertorials and media placements.
  • Monitor competitor media activity and share insights with the team.
  • Build and refine audience segments based on persona and industry.
  • Partner with the digital marketing team to optimize targeting strategies.
  • Write print/digital ads, emails, social media posts, tradeshow materials, product spotlights, brochures, flyers, presentations, and other outbound communications. 
  • Write and distribute press releases for publication in industry magazines. 
  • Collaborate with the graphic designer and content team on creative assets.
  • Implement A/B testing to improve ad performance.
  • Create and deliver a variety of marketing materials to the printer. 
  • Post content on website, including news posts, customer stories, events, application content.
  • Assist in driving process development and improvements for the marketing team.
  • Maintain campaigns in Smartsheet.
  • Organize and update digital asset management system (Brandfolder).

 

Education and Experience

  • BS/BA degree in marketing, communications, business or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training 
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in marketing, advertising coordination, or media support (B2B experience preferred)
  • Internship or coursework related to environmental studies a plus

  • Excellent self-starter skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships and communications 
  • Strong PC skills. Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Design Suite
  • Familiarity with content management systems and posting content on the web
  • Strong understanding of marketing process and performance measurement
  • Understanding of digital marketing best practices and marketing automation tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, or similar) preferred
  • Experience using Canva, Smartsheet, Figma a plus
