We're looking for someone to join our team as a Purchasing Clerk I who:

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, will coordinate and process the purchasing of goods and services. Maintain the department purchasing and distribution of equipment, equipment maintenance, supplies, forms printing and other purchasing services required by the corporation. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Develops and implements procedures for purchasing of supplies, purchasing of equipment, equipment maintenance/repairs, and printing of forms to be used by the corporation.
  2. Receives requisitions for equipment purchases, equipment repairs, supplies, and printing of forms.
  3. Prepares and issues purchase orders.
  4. Places orders for supplies, forms, and equipment under well-defined specifications and standards.  
  5. Meets with vendors for information concerning product, price, reliability/quality, and delivery date.
  6. Obtains competitive bids and proposals from vendors; recommends a vendor according to company-policies.
  7. Performs procurement follow-up and evaluates vendor conformance with terms of purchases and maintenance agreements. 
  8. Authorizes purchases within budgetary limitations obtains approvals for purchases beyond personal authorization ceiling.
  9. Must have the ability to prioritize responsibilities, work effectively, and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  10.  Knowledge and adapts to industry standards and familiarity of major suppliers, economic status of suppliers and the industry.  
  11.  Ability to problem solve and present ideas, solutions to issues.
  12.  Ability to work on a flexible schedule in maintaining fixed asset inventory
  13. Ability to make informed and timely decision based on research and the data obtained.
  14. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

You'll be successful with the following qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration preferred but not required.
  • Two years experience in medical or healthcare purchasing preferred
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Programs.
