Akira Technologies is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the successful execution of a complex IT program. The ideal candidate will combine deep project management expertise with strong leadership and operational oversight skills to ensure contract deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires a proactive leader who can coordinate diverse teams, maintain client satisfaction, and ensure full compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

This role supports a government client and US Citizenship with Public Trust clearance is required at the minimum.  Also, ideal candidate must be local to the DC Metro Area.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all operational aspects of a complex IT program, ensuring alignment with project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet deadlines and performance targets.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of contract terms, deliverables, FAR, and applicable guidelines.
  • Provide clear direction and guidance to project teams and support staff.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, senior management, and end-users to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Manage program budget, track billing, and oversee cost allocation to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance against established benchmarks.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet or exceed contractual quality standards.
  • Implement processes to drive operational efficiency and service excellence.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Resolve operational challenges promptly to avoid service disruptions.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and external partners to ensure timely and quality delivery of services.
  • Maintain accurate records of operational activities and contract performance.
  • Prepare regular status, performance, and compliance reports for stakeholders.
  • Foster a positive relationship with the client and end-users by addressing concerns promptly and effectively.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of experience managing complex IT projects or contracts, including resource allocation, project planning, and deadline management.
  • PMP, ITIL, or equivalent credentials strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in risk management, quality control, and budget oversight.
  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and contract compliance requirements.


Salary Range:  $100,000 to $135,000

Akira’s pay range for this position considers various factors including skills, years of experience, training, licenses, certifications, alignment with market data, and internal equity in the organization.  This pay range estimate is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary, which Akira believes to be done in good faith in compliance with local laws.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
