About the Department
This position is responsible for planning, scheduling and implementing recreation programs. Individual must have excellent public relation skills and previous experience working with individuals of all ages. Position requires that you must be able to work flexible hours with mostly evening and weekend hours required. This is a year-round part-time position. Your specific schedule will be set by the programs already in place and by the ones you create.
Position Duties
- Plans, schedules and implements recreation programming for Alamance Parks
- Ensures adherence to established rules and regulations; maintains safe clean environment and reports any damages or issues that may cause safety hazards.
- Demonstrates the ability to work well with a diverse group of citizens, provides excellent customer services, and works with minimal supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned

Other Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Some college course work is preferred with a major in recreation or related field.
Experience: Prior experience working independently to accomplish a diverse variety of tasks and experience working in customer service preferred. Prior experience with organizing and leading events of varying sizes is preferred.
Computer Skills: Must have a basic to intermediate functional knowledge of computers. Experience with internet, email, Microsoft Word, preferred.
License/Credentials/Requirement: Possession of a valid NC driver's license. Ability to be CPR/First Aid certified within 6 months of hire.
Other Important Position Information: Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position. This position is a part-time non-benefited position in which hours will vary and will average no greater than 19 hours per week. Specific schedule will be set by the programs already in place and by the ones being implemented. Flexibility in scheduling is a must.
