Position Summary:

The Member Share Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, tracking, and calculation of member financial obligations including cost share, room and board, and patient liability. In fulfilling these duties, the Member Share Coordinator works collaboratively with Lakeland Care’s (LCI) Care Management (CM) staff, LCI Enrollment staff, and county Income Maintenance staff to ensure that we appropriately invoice members for obligations owed to Lakeland Care. 


Responsibilities & Competencies:

  • Prepare invoice information for all member share obligations including cost share, room and board, and patient liability.
  • Maintain database with relevant member and provider information to assure accuracy in member billing.
  • Organize and oversee annual billing revisions due to adjustments such as with the HUD rate and cost of living.
  • Prepare member share financial reports and reconciliation to assure accuracy in member billing and to support LCI operations. Assist with year-end reconciliations, including participation in the audit process.
  • Calculate Room & Board obligation for members living in a residential placement using information from CARES system. Track member’s living arrangement to assure timely and accurate billing. 
  • Assist in the development of workflows and processes related to member share. 
  • Provide exceptional customer service to member’s regarding their member share obligations. Serve as a liaison between county Income Maintenance staff in order to assist members in understanding and maintaining eligibility for Medical Assistance. 
  • Work collaboratively with LCI’s CM and Enrollment staff, county Income Maintenance staff, and members to resolve discrepancies between LCI’s IT system, the state’s CARES system, and the state’s Forward Health Interchange.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of client information and protected health information as required by State and Federal regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability (HIPAA) Act of 1996. 
  • Comply with applicable federal and state laws, administrative rules, established organizational procedures and accepted professional standards. 

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Accounting or Business-related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience (includes knowledge, skills, and abilities).
  • Three years’ relevant work experience in a business or government operation with demonstrated ability to analyze and work independently.  
  • Knowledge or experience with the State of Wisconsin’s CARES or ForwardHealth systems is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers, computer programs, typing, and data entry to include working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to understand and use advisory data and information such as financial statements, technical operating manuals, procedures, guidelines, non-routine correspondence, and laws. 
  • Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and mediation skills.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills. 
  • Self-starter with strong desire to learn
  • Excellent customer care skills demonstrated by pleasant, patient and professional interaction and customer care techniques.
  • Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and proof of adequate insurance required.
