Position Overview 

Sherpa 6 seeks an experienced Senior Project Coordinator with extensive DoD acquisition and program management background to join our team supporting JPEO CBRND. This role is ideally suited for a seasoned professional with deep experience in defense acquisition, emerging technology integration, and senior-level stakeholder engagement. The position serves as the critical liaison between Sherpa, DEVCOM, and JPEO CBRND leadership, requiring someone who can operate effectively at the executive level while driving tactical execution. 


The Senior Project Coordinator will leverage their acquisition expertise to coordinate complex testing and evaluation events, manage cross-functional integration efforts, and facilitate technology transition initiatives. This position demands someone with proven experience in portfolio management, digital engineering integration, and the ability to synthesize technical requirements into actionable strategic recommendations. 


Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership & Executive Engagement 

  • Engage directly with senior military leadership (O-4 through O-7) and senior government civilians in daily operational meetings 
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings, technical assessments, and strategic recommendations to program leadership 
  • Lead cross-organizational integration efforts across DEVCOM, JPM Sensors, and JPEO CBRND 
  • Synthesize complex technical and operational requirements into coherent strategic direction 

Program Management & Integration 

  • Coordinate sophisticated testing and evaluation events involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and end users 
  • Develop and execute integration plans for emerging technologies and capability transitions 
  • Manage project portfolios with budget oversight and resource allocation responsibilities 
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, schedules, CONOPs, and executive summaries 

Stakeholder Relations & Communication 

  • Serve as primary conduit between contractor teams and government leadership 
  • Facilitate relationships with non-traditional defense contractors and emerging technology companies 
  • Lead vendor coordination and third-party program office engagements 
  • Capture and communicate customer priorities, pain points, and feedback across organizational boundaries 

Technology & Innovation Focus 

  • Stay current on emerging technologies, digital engineering practices, and open systems architectures 
  • Support experimentation efforts and technology maturation initiatives 
  • Coordinate with academic institutions and industry partners on capability development 
  • Assist in requirements development and decision support system implementation 

Requirements

Required Qualifications 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 15+ years of DoD acquisition or program management experience 
  • Demonstrated experience at PEO/JPEO level operations 
  • Proven track record managing complex, multi-billion dollar programs 


Technical & Professional Skills 

  • Deep understanding of DoD acquisition processes, requirements development, and lifecycle management 
  • Experience with System of Systems integration and Joint/International programs 
  • Proficiency in digital engineering, architecture standards, and open systems approaches 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Project management tools 
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with proven ability to brief senior leadership 

Security & Citizenship 

  • U.S. Citizenship required 
  • Current Secret clearance (TS-SCI strongly preferred) 
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation and drug screening 

Highly Preferred Qualifications 

Advanced Education 

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or National Security Studies 
  • Senior Acquisition Course certification or equivalent executive education 
  • Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level III certification 

Specialized Experience 

  • Director-level experience in acquisition or program management organizations 
  • Experience with Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) or similar organizations 
  • Background in electronic warfare, intelligence systems, or CBRN technologies 
  • International acquisition or coalition program experience 
  • Crisis management and rapid response capabilities 

Leadership & Strategic Skills 

  • Proven ability to build and lead cross-functional teams 
  • Experience in budget development, execution, and cost management 
  • Track record of successful technology transitions and capability delivery 
  • Strategic planning and market analysis capabilities
