Status: Full Time
Location: Zumiez Home Office -- Lynwood, WA
Reports to Title: Senior Marketing Manager
Salary: $75K-$78K annual

Position Overview:
The Event Marketing Manager will work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager to drive Zumiez marketing programs and events. This person will proactively seek and execute opportunities in customer and employee-facing digital/physical events. They’ll work in collaboration with a myriad of teams within the company, at the malls and our partner brands to create the experiences that only Zumiez can do. They’ll do that while training and working extensively with Marketing Coordinators on driving deadlines and oversee project execution from concept to completion.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Drive Zumiez marketing digital/physical event planning and production
- Develop creative activation ideas for events
- Oversee and assist in the planning and execution of digital/physical events
- Expand promotional opportunities for all events
- Own and maintain the 12 month event calendar and planning process
- Research relevant industry and lifestyle events
- Propose, maintain, and reconcile event budgets
- Develop the Marketing Coordinator team through the digital/physical events you lead
- Identifying specific teaching and learning opportunities for the coordinator team through each event
- Work with manager team on wholistic development of individual coordinators
- Act as a Marketing team leader at all national, regional, and local events
- Travel to key event locations to build/strengthen relationships and evaluate event success
- Manage a team of Marketing Coordinators to ensure event execution and representation of Zumiez in the best possible way
- Proactively seeking out new events and activation ideas that support the marketing mission & vision
- Support the marketing team with logistics and administrative tasks as needed, to execute projects effectively and successfully
- Responsible for overseeing inventory maintenance of all event supplies and equipment
- Act as Marketing liaison at all internal cultural events

Qualifications:
Required
- BA/BS in Marketing related field or previous Zumiez Experience (DM or above)
- 3+ years of brand marketing and event experience in relevant industries (skate, snow, streetwear preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of lifestyles Zumiez participates in (skate, snow, music and art), and market trends/opportunities
- Knowledge of or personal interest in lifestyle/industries that Zumiez participates in
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills

- Detail oriented and strong follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to tight deadlines
- The ability to lead and drive projects through Marketing Team
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills
- Ability to mentor, develop, and train Coordinators through teaching & learning
- Ability to interact effectively with different personality styles and with employees at all levels of the organization; must possess confidence in communication and be outgoing and comfortable working with people.
- Must be accountable for the results of all assigned projects
- Ability to stay focused and work independently (self-starter) and as part of a team
- Creative thinking skills and ability to brainstorm with a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage a budget with focus on efficiency, effectiveness and cost control
- Willingness to travel (30-40%) and work over weekends and holidays when necessary (mostly in the summer, but all year round)
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Social Media Platforms, Zoom and WebEx
- Valid Driver's License
- Able support on fulfillment/shipping as needed and able to lift 50+ lbs
Preferred
- College degree with a focus in business, psychology, or marketing
- Retail or sales experience
- Strong desire to create a mind blowing experiences
- Understanding of marketing “test & learn” methods, including control groups, segmentation, etc
