Job Summary____________________________________________________________________
The Program Coordinator, Education & Community Engagement supports Overture Center’s education and community engagement focused programs by coordinating logistics, communications, and program delivery for student matinees, family performances and select community engagement activities. This role plays a vital part in connecting diverse audiences of all ages to meaningful arts experiences and requires excellent organizational and live event management skills, inclusive communication practices and a collaborative, responsive approach.

The role requires Saturday daytime availability October through April to support the Kids in the Rotunda program.

 

Roles & Responsibilities_____________________________________________________________

OnStage Student Matinee Series

  • Coordinate all logistics for schools attending student matinee series performances including promotion, ticketing, access support, educator communication, payment and on-site show coordination with front of house, finance and production staff.
  • Serve as primary liaison with schools, supporting an inclusive and organized experience from season announce through performance day.
  • Collaborate with Teaching Artists to develop educational Resource Guides.
  • Support budgeting, reporting, and internal communication.


Kids in the Rotunda

  • Book, contract and advance artists and community partners for Overture’s Saturday family performance series.
  • Coordinate external and internal communications, logistics, artist hospitality, social media updates and accessibility initiatives at the performances.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the program day of shows, Saturdays October – April.
  • Develop wrap-around activities or partnerships when applicable.
  • Track program participation and feedback to support long-term planning and evaluation.


General Department Support

  • Participate in department planning meetings, cross-program check-ins, and annual planning.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communication records in shared systems.
  • Collaborate across departments to align programming with Overture’s strategic goals.
  • Embrace and contribute to the organization’s Inclusion, Access and Belonging work.
  • Support additional education and engagement initiatives as assigned, including community events and school partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The rate of pay for this role is $23.00/hr.

Qualifications____________________________________________________________________
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in arts administration, education, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in arts education or community engagement, preferably in a performing arts setting.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills adaptable to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with educators, families, or youth in a community or school setting.
  • Familiarity with event planning, artist support, and arts education practices.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and shared digital workspaces.
  • Commitment to access, inclusion, and responsive service in all aspects of program delivery.
  • A creative, collaborative and proactive approach to work.
  • An interest in serving educators, supporting arts

 

Working Conditions

Physical Demands:

  • Work is hybrid with a mix of remote, in office and onsite event environment.
  • Some evenings and weekend hours are required, specifically during Kids in the Rotunda season October – April. Working schedule is Tuesday-Saturday during that time
  • The ability to communicate both in person and electronically using telephone/video and computer.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time. Lifting up to 25lbs of equipment, bending, stooping, grasping and reaching.
  • The nature of this job requires the employee to work on-site (in-person) frequently.

 

Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Travel: This position may require minimal travel.
