Position Overview
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead and oversee various HR functions, ensuring that Maxwood attracts, develops, and retains top talent while fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture. This role will be responsible for recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance to support the company’s growth and people initiatives.
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- Develop and manage recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for all positions.
- Oversee job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and onboarding processes.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as a first line point of contact for HR inquiries and employee concerns.
- Foster a positive workplace culture that reflects company values and encourages collaboration.
- Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team events.
Performance Management
- Implement and maintain performance review processes.
- Provide guidance to managers on performance improvement, coaching, and career development.
Compliance & HR Policy
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Update and enforce company policies and procedures.
Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with company goals.
- Provide insights and recommendations on organizational structure, workforce planning, and retention strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification a plus).
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record in recruitment, employee relations, and organizational development.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace tools.
