Finance Analyst

Summary – The Finance Analyst helps the agency maintain funding and make sound financial decisions by monitoring and reporting on budgets, cash flow activities, and expenditures. This role is equally responsible for processing daily deposits, billing, and applying cash and entering general accounting journal entries. This role combines strategic thinking with day-to-day financial management and accounting tasks.
Classification – Exempt.
Position type and expected hours of work – Full time, onsite in Greenwich, CT. 35 hours per week. Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime is expected.
Reports to – Finance Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor contractual revenues and receipts to ensure all amounts the agency is entitled to are collected.
- Complete financial reporting for various programs to funding sources (government, foundations, etc.) including assembling allowed expenditure documentation, explaining variances if required, responding to follow up questions.
- Complete financial analyses and special projects on occasion as assigned within the Finance Department including various billing matters, income determinations, grant reporting, etc.
- Process, Prepare, and Post cash receipts, checks and credit card payments.
- Prepare daily bank deposits and deliver to bank as required.
- Create invoices according to agency practices and submit invoices to customers.
- Prepare daily journal entries for cash transfers between bank accounts and other journal entries as required.
- Prepare documents required during the enrollment period in the Early Care and Education program.
- Oversee the Billing and Collections of Early Care and Education program.
- Assist the Finance department with any related needs.
- Participate and support Quality Improvement activities.

- Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook;

Supervisory Responsibilities – none.
Required Education and Experience – BS/BA college graduate with minimum five years experience in an accounting setting.
Preferred Education and Experience – Accounting or business BS/BA degree with minimum five years experience in an accounting setting. Nonprofit experience is helpful but not required.
Additional qualifications – certifications, licenses, industry-specific experience, etc.
