Misericordia is currently hiring Loyola & Arrupe Student who are currently enrolled in the federal work study (FWS) program.

It is the responsibility of the DT Program Aide and all Misericordia staff to ensure quality care is given to the residents at Misericordia with an emphasis on individualized programming and active treatment. Each Program Aide manages duties within the DT Program, as described in this job description. The DT Program Aide is ultimately responsible for ensuring the completion of all duties assigned. The Program Aide is expected to be aware of the needs of all participants in the program area, program goals and methods, any equipment used in the area, and Misericordia policies and procedures. The Program Aide will perform all duties with oversight by trained DT Instructors, Trainers and DSPs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Environment
- Maintain the work area so that the health and safety of the participants are assured.
- Report all maintenance needs to the DT supervisor/director in a timely manner.
- Involve participants in the upkeep of their work area.
- Ensure knowledge and compliance of emergency response plans.
- Follows procedures on sanitation and organization in washrooms and common areas.
- Maintains Misericordia environmental standards are all times.
- Ensures that meal time sanitation procedures are completed.
Monitoring
- Ensure participant rights are protected and exercised.
- Maintain the condition of the workroom, to include the environment
- Supervise meal preparation and meal time in accordance with meal time plans with DSPs present.
- Assist Direct Service Professional (DSP) or DT Instructor /Trainer in ensuring proper implementation of Behavioral Support Plans applicable to program area.
- Assist the residents in maintaining good health. Report any concerns to the supervisor/director.
- Knowledgeable of resident goals and objectives in assigned area.
- Knowledge and implementation of escorting procedures.
- Assist with escorting during inclement weather with Direct Service Professional (DSPs) present.
Compliance
- Follow facility policies, procedures, and practices, and applicable federal, state, and city regulations. Demonstrate understanding of the Department of Human Services and Illinois Department of Public Health policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of all participants in program.
- Maintain responsibilities as a mandated reporter of any suspected abuse or neglect.
- Adheres to all handbook policies and procedures.
- Adheres to the census and attendance procedures of the workroom.
Other Duties
- Other duties as assigned.
- Able to support pre and post programming support during assigned times.
- Able to assist in minor paperwork needs when appropriate.
- Assist in fire/tornado/lockdown drills and procedures.
- Deliver supplies and needed materials when necessary.
Job duration: August 25, 2025-May 2, 2026 school year with opportunity for continued employment after the work
study program ends.
- Pay rate is $18.75 per hour
- Hours Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of High school diploma or GED.
Currently enrolled in Loyola University – FWS recipient
Must successfully complete Misericordia’s Auxiliary Training Class, which a is paid training.
