POSITION SUMMARY:   The Deposit Operations Specialist is responsible for “back office” tasks such as researching customer deposit questions/problems and performing miscellaneous maintenance on customers, accounts, and/or debit cards.  Processes wires on a daily basis. Performs any combination of routine calculating, postings, and verifying duties to obtain primary banking data for use in maintaining account records.  Verifies the accuracy of calculations and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other employees.  Responsibilities are performed under limited supervision with contracted deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Processes incoming and outgoing wire transfers, including domestic, international, drawdown, and online wires following all wire policies and procedures to ensure they are completed accurately and timely.  
  • Completes various day-to-day functions within the operations department, including but not limited to account and customer maintenance, review of stop payments and holds, and answering telephone and email inquiries.
  • Performs daily verifications of all ACH transactions originated by our business customers.
  • Completes debit card maintenance and research, which includes card orders, CAMS fraud alerts, disputes, and updating customer information.
  • Tracks Reg E disputes and resolves all items in the allotted timeframe.
  • Reviews and analyzes specific GL’s to perform all Exception Processing functions which includes adjustments, non-post, NSF/OD Processing, Disputes, Chargebacks, and Foreign Items.  Communicates with retail staff to provide information on how to resolve all Exception Processing issues while ensuring compliance with bank policy and procedures.  
  • Online banking, remote deposit capture and bill pay support.
  • Supports the Treasury department with Positive Pay, Business Online Banking, Analysis, and other systems as needed. 
  • Performs Synergy indexing of deposit documentation as needed. 
  • Assists the Deposit Quality Assurance Analyst and the Loan Operations Department as needed.
  • Follows all policies and procedures for HIPAA, HiTECH, state and federal laws and regulations to ensure compliance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge/Skill/Ability

  • Working knowledge of bank operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Basic knowledge of bank documentation, policies and procedures.
  • Effective oral and written communication skill, interpersonal and customer service skill with both staff and bank customers.
  • High level of constant attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Ability to adapt to fast-pace and rapid changes.  Ability to multi-task and handle unexpected delays or events while maintaining constant attention to details 
  • High level of dependability regarding attendance, punctuality and completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and maintain the highest level of confidentiality with information relating to the bank, bank customers, officers, directors, investors, and employees

Equivalent Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 
  • One year working experience in a financial institution focusing on due diligence and/or documentation or four plus years’ equivalent work experience.

Preferred Experience

  • One-year bank documentation experience preferred.
